A Lenovo Tenerife on a roll, the first hurdle in the three home- games series at La Fonteta

Valencia Basket opens a series of three games in a row at La Fonteta in just four natural days hosting Lenovo Tenerife (Friday 1st, 9:00 p.m., Fonteta, #Vamos) in a Endesa League round 20 make-up game that was moved to be able to play the first leg game between these two teams within the margin prior to the cut for the Copa del Rey.

 

The taronja team faces a direct duel in the fight for the Top-4 in the acb against a team that is its immediate pursuer in the standings and that could overtake them with a win.

 

This clash will mean the return to La Fonteta for the first time of the triple champion with Valencia Basket Joan Sastre, who left the entity this summer after five seasons and 237 games defending our jersey.

 

Although the precedents are favorable to the taronja team by 9-2, the Lagunero team cut a winning streak of nine victories in a row of Valencia Basket by taking the victory by 89-95 last season.

 

For the first time in the Endesa League, shooting guard Klemen Prepelic, who underwent surgery last Monday for a fracture of the ulna and radius of his left arm will be sidelined (and will be out for the remainder of the season), and also point-guards Sam Van Rossom and Neno Dimitrijevic still sidelined.

 

Despite all these inconveniences, the Taronja squad will seek the support of its public in a Fonteta in which it has won its eight games in 2022 and extends a dynamic in the Endesa League that is eight wins in the last ten games. Valencia Basket currently occupies the fifth position in the Endesa League with a balance of 16-8.
